$2,500 Scholarships to a four-year school, $1,000 Scholarship to a two-year school

This scholarship is for motivated first generation and/or low income students from Cal-SOAP, Talent Search, and Upward Bound. Foster Youth and Dream Act students are encouraged to apply. Geographic region includes students attending high school in Del Norte, Humboldt, Trinity and Mendocino Counties.

  • Scholarship is renewable; students need to reapply each year. Not for vocational or technical training, students must declare a transfer path when in community college.
  • Research based project, CAFC requires data collection as part of grant, so students must participate.
  • Current award amounts are $2,500 for a four year school and $1,000 for a two year school.
  • Students can attend any accredited two or four year institution in the United States.
  • Eligibility: Enrolled and active participant in outreach program including any Foster Youth or Independent Living program, 2.5 high school GPA or the equivalent, attending college in the fall, demonstrated financial need, FAFSA submitted by March 2nd.
  • Program participants are provided with extra college success support and coaching especially during their first year.
