  • Workshops and panels will be held at both AHS and MHS. Don’t miss out!
  • These workshops are open to ALL Humboldt County Middle and High School Students

  • Tuesday, January 24 | Field trip to Wildwood Manufacturing
    Depart school at 3:10, return by 4:30 p.m. 8 students maximum
  • Wednesday, January 25 | Field trip to McKeever Energy
    Depart school at 3:10, return by 4:30 p.m. 8 students maximum
  • Monday, January 30 | 6:30 - 7:30 p.m. in the AHS library
    Event: Summer programs that will help you prepare for college and strengthen your college applications
  • Tuesday, January 31 | 3:30 - 4:30 p.m. in the AHS library
    Event: After school workshop - Volunteer and professional fire fighting opportunities with the Arcata Fire Protection District and Cal Fire
  • Monday February 6 | 6:30 - 7:30 p.m. in the MHS library
    Event: Career exploration panel about jobs in health care
  • Wednesday, March 1 | Field trip to O&M Industries
    Depart school at 3:10, return by 4:30 p.m. 8 students maximum
  • Friday, March 3 | 11:30 - 12:25 4th period in the AHS library
    Event: Latino student career and college readiness panel with HSU students

    Event: After school workshop--Programs and job training opportunities through the College of the Redwoods Career Technical Education

    Event: Latino parent career and college information and support in partnership with HSU Latinx Center for Academic Excellence

    Event: After school workshop--US Army & Marine Corps.

    Event: Career Exploration panel about jobs in public safety. (Police, fire, game wardens, US Coast Guard)
  • Monday, March 27 | 6:30 - 7:30 p.m. in the AHS library
    Event: HSU Career Center insight and presentation about choosing a college major
  • Tuesday, March 28 | Field trip to Marimba One
    Depart school at 3:10, return by 4:30 p.m. 8 students maximum

    Event: What’s the difference between high school and college classes and responsibilities? Insight from a CR and HSU professor
  • Tuesday, April 11 | 3:30 - 4:30 p.m. in the AHS library
    Event: After school workshop - finding and getting hired for a summer job. What employers look for, resume tips, etc.
  • Tuesday April 25 | Field trip to local business. Depart school at 3:10, return by 4:30 p.m. 8 students maximum
  • Tuesday, May 2 | 9:45 - 11:30 a.m. at the Arcata Community Center
    Event: NHUHSD Bi-Annual Career & Education Fair
  • Monday, May 15 | 6:30 - 7:30 p.m. in the MHS library
    Event: McKinleyville High School parent insight panel - Parents of 2016 graduates will share their tips and insight about transitioning from high school to college.
  • Tuesday, May 23 | 11:16 - 12:09 (4th period) in the MHS library
    Event: Career exploration panel about writing and writers. Karen Myers English students will co host this panel.
